Fond memories of happy childhood holidays inspired Harry Holt to persuade his wife Georgina to move into his parent’s farmhouse near Camber Sands. “We were living in a house just off Portobello Road, ‘ says Georgina, ‘and I had just had Fred, our first baby. We always intended to bring up our children in the country and as I had already fallen in love with the beach at Camber Sands, I was ready to move.’ Georgina could also see huge potential in the farmhouse. ‘It was Grade 11 listed with bags of character, beamed ceilings, original fireplaces, paneling, brick floors and set in remote wildly lovely countryside with an old walled garden, tennis court and barn attached. It had everything going for it and in my view, would make the perfect home for children.’
